At Venables Brothers we source our timber from specialist mills in Europe with which we have long term trading relationships. We have weekly deliveries from French sawmills so that we can usually turn a non-stock order round in less than five working days. Most of France’s sawmills are owned and run by families that have a profound understanding of the proper processing and grading of their material.

Some of our customers will only use timber from one particular sawmill. We make sure their wishes are complied with. We claim that our knowledge of sourcing timber is second to none. Our concern for quality also extends to our environment. We can supply PEFC and FSC certified hardwoods with an approved chain of custody certification.

Venables timber is kiln-dried to an average of 12% moisture content.
